Frank McKee has been playing bass since the late 50‘s. Like Nick he was a member of the Gloryland Jazzband which was resident for several years in The Whittington Cat, Whitehaven where the Jazz Club boasted a roll of some 3000 members including a number of Russians from Volga Donsk. Has been a member of numerous local bands of varying styles, Mick Pott’s Gateway Jazz Band, Nick’s Chosen Six, The Georgia Jazz Band, and a Stan Tracy style band called Endangered Species to name but a few.
Because of a back problem he abandoned the good old bull fiddle a few years ago and now plays a fretless electric bass. He also plays Tuba when the need arises, like for outdoor gigs.
