Joe Edwards was for many years a tenor player in local dance bands until the the old Saturday night ballroom dances went out a fashion. First met up with Nick when they both frequented Mike Lunn’s Coxwain’s Cabin in Bowness on Windermere. They played as a trio with Mike on piano at number of Sunday Lunch time sessions. Joe joined the Rhythm Kings when they played at the Kingfisher Inn in Cockermouth. Until recently he played with the Cliff Eland Big band in Carlisle and was a regular member of John Cowan’s Lairds of Dixieland playing  at the Oasis holiday park near Penrith
